…the race set before us

I have been trying to compile a list of all the organizations that are helping victims of the bombings and their families. I will attempt to keep this list updated as I find out more organizations and more activities planned that will benefit them. As I said on my previous post, we will run this race with endurance, but this is just the start to a very long race.

Funds:

MIT has set up a Sean Collier Memorial Fund (additionally there is a website set up to write your condolences)

Races/runs:

Friday May 3rd, Knoxville, TN: REV3Glow 5K Night Race & 1 Mile Fun Run at the Worlds Fair Park will benefit Nicole Gross and her family

May 5th Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, May 5th Pittsburgh Marathon, and May 19th Cleveland Marathon: runners will be able to purchase “Boston Strong” wristbands for whatever amount they choose, all donations going to One Fund Boston.

Other:

Run Now: A social media movement that is connecting runners and trying to raise money for the One Fund Boston, started through companies like Brooks Running and Competitor Group.

If you want to log your runs and join a community of runners who are logging their miles all together, you can submit them here.

Friends in Boston, the store Marathon Sports has ordered 2,000 t-shirts with 100% of proceeds going to the One Fund, they won’t be ordering anymore and won’t ship so you have to buy them in stores. Details here.

Please comment with additional races, funds or organizations that I miss, especially ones in and around North Carolina!
